Sintesis Teologi Kovenan dan Doktrin Justifikasi berdasarkan 2 Korintus 5:21: Sebuah Konstruksi Teologis dalam Perspektif Kovenantal

This paper aims to synthesize covenant theology and the doctrine of justification in the light of 2 Corinthians 5:21. The doctrine of justification emphasizes the justification of believers through faith in Jesus Christ. On the one hand, covenant theology emphasizes the dynamic relationship between God and man throughout the Bible, where it culminates in the person and work of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21 affirms that Jesus is a sinless person. However, God made Jesus the “Lamb of God” to fulfill the promise of salvation in the Old Covenant. Through Jesus' death for human sin, believers are reconciled to God. Believers also obtain God's righteousness that cannot be achieved by human effort. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, the author will synthesize covenant theology and the doctrine of justification using 2 Corinthians 5:21 as the foundation. The author asserts that 2 Corinthians 5:21 provides a solid theological foundation to synthesize covenant theology and justification doctrine. This paper provides a novel approach that incorporates a hermeneutical-covenantal framework to build a doctrinal synthesis. In addition, this paper contributes to offering a synthesis model that strengthens the holistic understanding of soteriology from a hermeneutical and systematic perspective.
