Peran Bait Suci Dalam Pembentukan Spiritualitas Dan Identitas Umat Pilihan Allah

Dalam praktik keagamaan, terdapat tiga unsur fundamental: komunitas penyembah, objek penyembahan, dan lokasi peribadatan. Penelitian ini mengkaji peran Bait Suci dalam membentuk spiritualitas dan identitas umat pilihan Allah, khususnya bangsa Israel yang menggunakan Bait Suci sebagai pusat penyembahan kepada Yahweh. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari signifikansi teologis Bait Suci yang dipercaya sebagai tempat kehadiran Allah yang memberikan pertolongan, berkat, dan shalom bagi Israel. Bait Suci yang dibangun dengan sangat istimewa ini menjadi kebanggaan dan pusat identitas religius bangsa Israel. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis fungsi ganda Bait Suci: sebagai ruang perjumpaan antara Allah dan umat-Nya, serta sebagai pusat peribadatan komunal. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur kualitatif dengan menganalisis secara teologis terhadap teks-teks Perjanjian Lama yang berkaitan dengan Bait Suci Yerusalem. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bait Suci berperan sentral dalam pembentukan spiritualitas Israel melalui pengalaman perjumpaan sakral dengan Allah yang hadir secara nyata, sekaligus membentuk identitas kolektif sebagai umat perjanjian melalui praktik ibadah komunal yang meliputi pujian, syukur, dan persembahan. Bait Suci bukan hanya sebagai struktur fisik, melainkan simbol teologis dari kehadiran Allah yang membentuk kesadaran religius dan etika komunal Israel. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pemahaman tentang bagaimana ruang sakral membentuk identitas dan spiritualitas komunitas iman dalam tradisi Yahudi-Kristen.
