Nada yang Membebaskan: Struktur Liturgis dan Teologis dalam Panggilan Kidung Musa (Keluaran 15:1-21)

Abstract

The Song of Moses in Exodus 15:1–21 is a significant liturgical text that constructs the Exodus experience as the foundation of Israel’s theological identity. This study is motivated by the need to understand how the liturgical structure of this text not only records the event of deliverance but also generates a theological consciousness of calling among God’s people. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analyze the liturgical structure of the Song of Moses and to evaluate its implications for a theology of calling. This study employs a qualitative method with a theological-biblical analytical approach to examine the text’s rhetorical devices, poetic structure, musical performativity, and communal participation. The findings demonstrate that the Song of Moses possesses a clear liturgical structure consisting of: the proclamation of God’s salvation, the narrative of deliverance, the declaration of God’s reign, and the prophetic and communal response expressed through singing and dancing. The theological analysis reveals that God is portrayed as the Divine Warrior who acts in steadfast love, while the people are called to respond through worship, covenant identity, and ethical participation in the mission of liberation. The contribution of this study lies in its affirmation that the Song of Moses should be read as a liturgical-performative text that functions to shape covenant identity and the community’s awareness of divine calling, rather than merely as a historical victory hymn. Consequently, this research enriches the fields of biblical theology and liturgical studies by demonstrating how the memory of deliverance, the structure of worship, and the ethical calling of God’s people are integrally woven together within the Exodus tradition.
